BOHO recently conducted a material sample presentation and approval session with the project owner and IHG, the hotel operator, for the Crowne Plaza Saigon Binh Duong project. This is an important stage in the design development process, allowing all parties to compare the design intent presented in drawings with physical material samples before the hotel interior project moves into the next phases of implementation.

In an interior project, material sample approval plays a critical role in connecting design intent with practical execution. At this stage, materials can be viewed, touched and assessed directly. Their colours, textures, surface finishes and technical specifications are carefully reviewed before the final selections are confirmed. This process gives the project owner, operator, consultants and interior contractor a shared understanding of how each material will appear, perform and interact with the overall space.
During the session, BOHO worked closely with the project owner and IHG to review each material sample in relation to the overall interior design concept.
The materials were assessed against several important criteria, including:
- Compliance with Crowne Plaza and IHG brand standards
- Alignment with the original design intent
- Technical suitability for manufacturing and construction
- Consistency across different interior areas
- Durability and long-term operational performance
By evaluating these factors together, the project team can make more informed decisions and identify potential technical or aesthetic issues before materials enter production and installation.

Material sample approval is therefore more than a selection process before construction. It is an essential part of interior quality control.
A thorough approval process helps reduce implementation risks, protect the original design intent and ensure that the completed space meets expectations for aesthetics, functionality, durability and operational efficiency. It also creates a clear reference for subsequent stages, supporting consistency between approved materials, factory production, on-site construction and final handover.
Through an integrated approach combining design development, manufacturing and construction, BOHO aims to deliver interior spaces that remain consistent from concept to completion while meeting the project owner’s requirements and the operational standards of each hospitality project. This commitment to design quality and execution has also contributed to BOHO’s recognition as an award-winning interior design company in Asia, while enabling the team to meet the project owner’s requirements and the operational standards of each hospitality project.
