SCOPE OF WORK

Interior Construction, Thi công nội thất

Nikura, a newly completed Nikkei restaurant at JW Marriott Saigon, brings together the vibrant energy of Peru and the understated refinement of Japanese cuisine.

For this project, BOHO delivered the Bid-Build package, turning a technically demanding design into a finished space that feels both elevated and inviting. More than executing the build, BOHO helped bring a layered concept into reality, where aesthetics, function, and cultural references come together in a cohesive dining environment.

Transmuting Natural Elements into Spatial Experience

At Nikura, Earth, Water, Fire, and Wind are not treated as abstract references. Instead, they are embedded into the space through materials, lighting, and spatial composition.

Earth is expressed through timber surfaces and a deep-toned palette. Water appears in the mirrored ceiling and reflective stone finishes. Fire is introduced through the open kitchen and decorative lighting. Wind is reflected in the large glazed openings and ventilation strategy, carefully adapted to the needs of a high-end dining setting

What sets Nikura apart is the level of detail across several key design features, each requiring its own execution approach to stay true to the original concept while working within real construction conditions.

Bridging the Gap: From Concept to Precise Realization

One example is the decorative lighting, shaped like bells. Because of their scale and weight, these pieces called for careful coordination of suspension, load distribution, and balance, ensuring both safety and the intended visual lightness. The motifs etched onto the metal surface draw from Peruvian cultural patterns, then refined to suit the material and the overall language of the interior.

The wine display presented another layer of precision. Using slim brass rods as vertical supports, BOHO integrated thick bubble glass elements into a composition that appears light yet highly controlled. Achieving a consistent alignment across the full system required close coordination between metalwork, structure, and finishing.

The engraved mirrored ceiling also plays a key role in shaping the restaurant’s atmosphere. Designed to read as one continuous surface, it was carefully executed so that each junction remains visually seamless. The pattern density and reflectivity were also adjusted with restraint, allowing light to diffuse softly and reinforcing the warm, refined character of the space.

From structure and MEP systems to the final finishes, every scope was delivered with a consistent level of control and precision, aligned with the operational standards of a five-star hospitality environment.
